Our Vision and Priorities

Our vision for the future is to make Goldthorpe and Bolton on Dearne a great place to live and work. We want to create a better community and our priorities are:

  • Good education and training prospects
  • Quality and affordable homes to live in
  • Improved local facilities
  • A supportive and actively involved community

Since September 2014 the Snap Tin Community Hub Partnership Board has been helping the local community to deliver those priorities. This has involved funding a wide range of projects and activities by providing money from the £1million lottery award to independent groups or organisations for their trustees or directors to deliver. These projects may be big or small but the common requirement is that they benefit the wider community of Goldthorpe & Bolton on Dearne.

It must be stressed that the funding is not public money, it is entirely the £1 million National Lottery award, which is managed by the Big Local Partnership Board and our Local Trusted Organisation, Snap Tin Community Cafe. All of the work done by the Partnership Board is open and fully accountable and the aim is always to fund projects that benefit the community.

In addition to gathering feedback and views of local people throughout the year, as part of our annual review process we actively seek to gather the views and feedback of the wider community through an online survey as well as through open plan review meetings to inform and shape our activities.

The Budget spends for Snap Tin Community hub is also available annually at our Plan Review meeting which is an open meeting. We invite anyone who has an interest in helping the hub to deliver the projects, or has a genuine interest in what Snap Tin Community Hub is doing, to attend.
